Home Insulation

Here is a hot take on insulation I think everyone should know.  All attics in Florida should be very well insulated. Let that soak in a minute… We live in a climate that is harsh, to say the least, to our homes roof. It consumes a large amount of heat from the sun, transferring to the attic and, if you have a poorly insulated attic, will transfer to your ceiling and down to the living spaces. This I know for sure, ask any home owner with an older house and I’m sure they can tell you a time when the attic wasn’t properly insulated.

Insulating your attic is one of the most economical and beneficial things you can do to ensure that your home is maintained properly and stays warm in the winter and cool in the summer. Blown-in attic insulation is a great type of insulation for your home.  This type of insulation is blown inside the attic of your home and it works by expanding itself to fill up cracks and crevices. Blown-in attic insulation is the best way to get inside those smaller cracks and spaces that rolled insulation is unable to do. That means that if the job is done correctly, your home can be more air-tight.

Blown-in attic insulation has many benefits, but perhaps the best benefit is that it can save you money! Blown-in attic insulation is not as expensive to install as you may think, it is a easy and clean process, (no toxic chemicals), and the long-term financial benefits are endless. Blown-in attic insulation can decrease your monthly energy bills up to 20%!

You will most definitely see the financial benefits of this insulation. You may even see a return on your investment via your energy bill in one year and have it be enough to cover the cost of the insulation itself. And then after that first year, any other savings is just money in the bank!

If you are noticing that the insulation in your attic is wearing thin, as is common and happens over time, you might want to consider having your existing insulation covered up with blown-in insulation. If your insulation is wearing down, this means that your air is seeping outside of your home and costing you money and wasting energy. Blown-in insulation and correct that problem for you.

We want you to stay cool all summer and warm in the winter. Having a perfect air conditioner is only one piece of the war on high energy bills.
